Monstrous Gauntlet

Monstrous Gauntlet is a cooperative PvE wave event with protected deaths and per-wave reward races.

Event Window

  • Standard schedule: week 3 Saturday.
  • Standard runtime window: 4 hours.

Player Commands

  • /gauntlet register to pre-register for auto-teleport
  • /gauntlet unregister to cancel pre-registration
  • /gauntlet join to enter while active
  • /gauntlet leave to return to saved pre-event location
  • /gauntlet info for current wave/reward status

Join Rules

  • You cannot join while combat-tagged.
  • Mid-event joining is allowed while active.
  • Pre-registered players are auto-joined shortly after event start.

Arena and World Rules

  • Dedicated gauntlet world is generated as AMPLIFIED terrain.
  • PvP is disabled in the arena.
  • Block place/break is disabled in the arena.
  • Item durability loss is cancelled in the arena.
  • Lava/fire/hot-floor damage to players is cancelled in the arena.
  • Keep-inventory and immediate-respawn behavior are enforced.

Death Protection

Gauntlet deaths are protected:

  • inventory kept
  • drops cleared
  • XP loss prevented
  • gauntlet death-stat inflation rolled back

Wave System (Default Config Values)

  • Total rounds: 10
  • Initial delay before wave 1: 10s
  • Round timer: 150s
  • Intermission: 25s
  • Base mobs in wave 1: 12
  • Mob-count growth per round: +40% of base
  • Mob attribute scaling per round: +0.25

Mob Pool Behavior

  • Base hostile pool is extended by rune-specific explicit mob sources.
  • This means gauntlet can include extra mob types tied to active rune drop sources.
  • Mobs are tethered/retargeted to keep the fight active inside the arena border.

Rewards

  • Top damage player each wave gets 1 random custom item.
  • Reward source is the active craftable custom-item pool.
  • Reward cap defaults to 10 (and is clamped to at least total rounds).

Recovery and Persistence

  • Your pre-gauntlet position is saved and restored on leave/end.
  • Restore points are persisted, so reconnect/rejoin recovery is more reliable.
  • If you disconnect while participating, /gauntlet join returns you to the session while active.

HUD and Broadcasts

  • Sidebar scoreboard (if scoreboards are enabled in your settings)
  • Regular status broadcasts (if event broadcasts are enabled)
  • /gauntlet info snapshot
  • Pre-event reminder broadcasts are scheduled automatically (default: starts 12h before, repeats every 30 minutes) and stop once Gauntlet starts.
